Get help with pairing, permissions, and a missing video picture.
Email mirroview@liljackson.org for support or privacy questions.
Start a session
- Use two iPhones or iPads running iOS or iPadOS 17 or newer. For your first session, connect both devices to the same reachable local Wi-Fi network. The app also includes nearby sharing, whose availability depends on the devices, system support, and wireless conditions. Keep Wi-Fi enabled on both devices. Internet access is not required for the video session.
- On the sending device, choose to share. The main share button starts an entire-screen session.
- On the viewing device, choose to watch and scan the invitation QR code. If scanning is unavailable, use the paste-invitation option on the home screen to paste an invitation copied from the sending device.
- Check the invitation and confirm on both devices. The sender must also approve the iOS or iPadOS screen capture prompt.
After screen sharing starts, the sender can open Camera or another app. The viewer sees the screen, subject to iOS or iPadOS capture restrictions.
Export diagnostics
On the home screen, tap the version number six times, choose Export logs ZIP, and use the system share sheet. Export from both devices after a failure. Include the approximate time and whether each device was connected to a router. Do not post diagnostic files publicly.
If the devices cannot connect
- Try connecting both devices to the same reachable local Wi-Fi and confirming that the network allows devices to communicate with each other. Guest or isolated networks may block this.
- Allow Local Network access for mirroview in iOS or iPadOS Settings.
- Start a fresh session and scan or paste the new invitation. Old invitations expire.
- Keep both apps open during pairing and try again if the network changes.
If the viewer sees no picture
- Confirm the session on both devices and approve the iOS or iPadOS screen share prompt on the sending device.
- Check that the sender has not paused or stopped sharing.
- Try showing an ordinary app screen. Some protected content cannot be captured.
- End the session and start a new one if the connection drops.
Audio is not part of the current app. A viewer may still capture a copy of visible video through their device.
Write to us
Include the app version, both iPhone or iPad models, iOS or iPadOS versions, what you were trying to share, and the steps that led to the problem. Tell us whether pairing failed or video was blank after both people confirmed. Do not email invitation QR codes, passwords, private screen images, or diagnostic archives unless you intend to share them.
